What is Integrative Medicine and Functional Medicine?

Integrative Medicine includes a variety of modalities to improve health and wellness such as yoga, meditation, and herbs for holistic health. Holistic meaning all the body systems mind, body and spirit are connected.

Functional Medicine also views health and wellness from a holistic perspective and is unique in that it focuses on the causation or root of a problem.

Do you take health insurance?

Earth Essence is about taking more time to know you and looking at your lifetime journey of health from birth to where you are today. Insurance does not compensate for these longer visits so I am not able to take insurance at this time. You will be provided with a receipt for the visit with ICD-10 codes that you may submit to your FSA/HSA.

Do I have to have lab work? Can I request lab work?

Lab work is not required but may be recommended after our initial visit. You may ask about labs you are interested in and I am excited to discuss all the options available to you.

Are labs covered by insurance?

It is a necessity to check with the lab company and your insurance regarding out of pocket cost or insurance coverage. Insurance coverage for labs varies greatly and is not guaranteed. It is recommended that you clarify coverage and costs prior to the lab tests to avoid any unexpected lab fees.

Should I change my daily medications or supplements prior to my appointment?

Do not change any prescribed medications without speaking to your prescribing provider. Continue your current supplement regimen unless you are having an undesirable side effect.

Can Earth Essence be my Primary care provider?

Earth Essence is an online wellness provider, not a primary care provider. It is important that you have a primary care provider that you can see for in-person care when needed.
